Men, Women & Children -YOU GOTTA READ THIS!

DEAR READER,
You gotta read this!
For all the money spent on the research Cornell University does...
THIS IS A TOTAL WASTE!

"BIG EARNING WOMEN MORE CHEATED ON"

Does anybody else remember the classics perfume ad for the late 1970's?
"I can bring home, fry it up in the pan. And never, never, never let you forget you're a man."

It turns out, the dynamics of gender identity are a bit more complicated. In many cases, women who are bringing home the bacon will need the frying pan for something very different: They'll need it to clobber their philandering partners.

The message conveyed in a study released this week is certain to stir anger among women who work hard outside the home: If you are the betrayed wife or female partner of a philandering man, it suggests, you may have your paycheck to blame.

Being in a relationship with a female partner who earns more than he does can make a man feel less of a man, Cornell University sociologist, Christian Munsch... told colleagues at the annual confab of the America Sociological Association. To affirm and restore his battered sense of manhood, a man may feel he needs to go outside the relationship in search of sexual conquest, she said.

She cites research showing that nothings makes a man feel like "the man" like a sexual conquest. "Sexual encounters, particularly with multiple women are a defining feature of hegemonic masculinity," Munsch writes.

Yes, yes, if course , relationship satisfactions matters, as does the religiosity of the man in question . As either increases, the odds of a man engaging extramarital sex go down, Munsch found. One factor that makes a man more likely to stray from a relationship is a low level of education.

NOW, LET ME JUST PERSONALLY interject something, deeply explaining my first statement.
Of all the money, brainpower and time that Cornell University has spent and continue to spend on fantastic useful research...THIS WAS A WASTE OF TIME! A WASTE OF ALL IT'S VERY VALUABLE RESOURCES. We didn't need Cornell 's brainpower to be wasted on something that MANY, MANY, MANY of us already knew!!!

And what we knew is this, Men will use any "excuse" to sleep around, being unfaithful."
All Cornell University's Christin Munsch did was sound as if she was legitimizing this excuse. SO WHAT, your wife makes more than you! IF YOU WERE A REAL MAN, You'd be GRATEFUL to have a woman who was productive, driven, successful AND LOVES YOUR POOR BUTT! Does she treat you like you are less? If not then what is your issue go to do with her?
Be a Man and recognize it is you and take care of the situation in a positive manner without destroying your relationship. In case you haven't looked around at your friends, and family members relationships lately...let me remind you that this world is a very bleak place without a supportive, trusting loving partner in your life! And they don't come by often nor easy! GET A GET A GRIP DUDE!!!

Why should the woman that works hard, achieving, feel bad "have their paychecks to blame", insinuating that it is the woman's fault for working hard that her man cheats. YEP! This angered me, as a hard working woman. It also angered my female co-worker who was reading this at lunch today. WHAT CRAP! Blame their pay paychecks, how about just leaving all of the blame on the man, for he knows what he has at home!

If a man feels less of a man because she makes more, then HE WASN'T MUCH OF A MAN BEFORE HE GOT HER! I'll say it again to provide clarity in case you thought I was biting my tongue. If the man man feels less because of the woman's bank account, HE WASN'T MUCH OF A MAN TO BEGIN WITH!!! Further more, if the guy had a problem with her bank, then I would think instead of regressing, that it should motivate him to do better, be better. Using her achievements as a motivator to step up, follow some dreams and goals of his own. Find some way to make some great strides in personal success as a man and build on your self-confidence instead of using her successes to be a failure in the relationship. If the guy is comfortable with his achievements then I believe that makes a difference too!

B.I.B.L.E.- WHO IS JESUS?, Pt. 1 of 5

B.I.B.L.E.= BASIC INSTRUCTION BEFORE LEAVING EARTH.
This Column is and has always been for those who may be new in Christ and for those who just may be seeking. This is a beginners column in christ if you will. For the True Believer, those "seasoned Christian Believers, those who have experienced God, have a higher level of understanding and desire to continue to grow in him, the "True Believer" column is for you!

WHO IS JESUS?
Many people have crated their own answer, but
according to the Book of John Chapter 14, verses 6-14 of what we know as "the Holy Bible, "thousands of years ago Jesus answered, ...."I am the way, and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me. (v. 7) If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.

(v. 8) Phillip said, " Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough
for us."
(v. 9) Jesus answered,: "Don't you know me, Phillip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has sen the Father . How can you say, "Show us the Father?
(v. 10) Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.
(v. 11) Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. (v.12) I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things that these, because I am going to the Father.
(v.13) And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. (v. 14) You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

JESUS ...IS THE WAY!

MEETTA'S READERS -YOUR COMMENTS

HEY READERS!

You say, "MEETTA, where have you been?"
You haven't written any new articles since early May!

I say, "I've been here. Just been in a place in my life where I needed air. Been in a place in my life where I once again needed much prayer. We always need that anyway! "

Dear readers,
It seemed as if I abandoned my writing, because in it I wasn't flying.
I got frustrated, VERY frustrated!
I didn't see the growth, the meaning behind it. I didn't hear your comments.
Ill health, personal questioning of my self, doubting my hope and dreams for my future, feeling beaten down by life. A mountain of things in life were happening all around me.
I had trouble focusing. Inspite and despite my hope of who God is,
I didn't hold fast in spite of. I took my eyes and heart out of the fight to use my talents. I felt I was losing my breath. I was choking on the problems of life.
I thought I needed to step back, because I needed to breath. I needed some air.
Do you know what I mean?

But when I stepped back, stepping back made me realize HOW MUCH I needed to STEP BACK UP! So that's where I've been Dear Readers
in a place needing air, in a place needing prayer.

God, through my friends, "my TRUE FRIENDS (INCLUDING MY SON BRAD) have been awesomely understanding, supportive, chastising and LOVING!!

THANK YOU FAITHFUL DEAR READERS OF MY BLOG!
For your continued and constant support.
Meetta

MEETTA TALKS - STOP RUNNING! I'M BACK

POETRY
INSPIRATION STATION
STOP Running!
By Meetta J. Martin
from her book "You Can't Say That",
Poetry to Strengthen, heal and Encourage

You have been through many situations!
You have experienced trouble o top of trouble!
It is understandable that you have developed little patience for even more!
But understand that as you as you live, trials and tribulations...
... will forever come knocking on you door.
Turning your back on things, will not make them go away.
So, STOP RUNNING!

You don't trust much anymore.
You hesitate to extend yourself to anyone.
If you do, it is a very short leash that you have them on.
You take nothing folks say at standing value.
You are always curious.
You question EVERYTHING!
You trust nothing.

You will not allow yourself to let loose and just have fun.
You are overly protective of yourself.
Things have been so tough for you that you expect everything to be just as tough.
Important relationships have fizzled. They took advantage of you.
Now you EXPECT relationships to backfire on you.
At some point though, you have to STOP RUNNNNG!

Secretly, you desire to be SO DIFFERENT.
You have made your strides. YOU AREN'T THE SAME!
Though others know that...not necessarily the ones you want to know that!
You know you are not the same, but in some ways, you are still running.
You would have settled for just being open and trusting like you used to be, but
life wouldn't let you.

You've had so many troubling experiences, less than some, but more than others.
And some of them still haunt you.
Hey! Everybody has their limits. You're OK!
Though you know you are stronger than many,
You always know that many have suffered more. Still...
Still, know that you are OK, but you are still running!
Yes! You feel you have every right to shut down, but you don't!
Though there is someone you want to love or at let respect you, they haven't.
You can't change that! BUT WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS?
What about the child you have that loves and adores you?
What about the few Dear friends have proven themselves loyal?
What about your FANS?
Yeah! You have them, because you are good at what you do.
You're good at being YOU!
Stop running so you can slow down enough to enjoy those who really care
& want to be there...FOR YOU!
Stop running. Just stop running away

COMMUNITY CORNER - EYE HEALTH

Reader,
DID YOU KNOW?
... Your eyes could be under more pressure than you think?

... The first sign of glaucoma may be no sign at all?

...Up to 40% of your optic nerve could be damaged before you notice any vision loss?

...Optic nerve damage is irreversible and can lead to blindness.

New Research show that treating high eye pressure with prescription eye drops may prevent or delay the onset of glaucoma.

High eye pressure is a major treatable risk factor for glaucoma, an eye disease that damages the optic nerve. In fact, a new national study has shown that pressure-lowering eye drops can cut the risk of developing glaucoma by up to 60%.

High Eye Pressure / Intra-ocular Pressure...
Puts pressure on your optic nerve. Your eye doctor can do a special test to measure your eye pressure and find out if it's too high.

Optic Nerve...
Sends visual messages to your brain. Untreated high eye pressure may cause irreversible damage to your optic nerve.

Glaucoma...
Damage to your optic nerve from high eye pressure can cause a loss of peripheral vision. As the damage increases, peripheral vision decreases. glaucoma may eventually lead to blindness.

YOU ARE AT GREATER RISK FOR GLAUCOMA...
...IF you are over age 50.
...IF you have high eye pressure or ocular hypertension.
...IF you have a family history of glaucoma
...IF you are African-American.
*PLEASE NOTE: You don't have to have all of these factors to be at risk only.

Your sight is precious...talk to your doctor about high eye pressure today!

Follow these 3 simple steps:
1) Get your eyes tested regularly.
Since you can't feel high eye pressure, it's important to have your eye pressure checked when your doctor says. Don't wait until our eye pressure starts to change, because your optic nerve may already have been damaged, and the damage is irreversible.

2) Get informed about early treatment.
The good news is that you can treat high eye pressure with prescription eye drops, which may help prevent glaucoma. Treatment with prescription eye drops every day has been shown to lower high eye pressure.

3) Get into a routine.
If your doctor prescribes eye drops to treat your eye pressure, make your eye drops a part of your daily routine. Using your eye drops at the same time every day may help you to remember your medication.

REMEMBER, high eye pressure can put your sight at risk!

Your sight is precious....ask your doctor today about your eye pressure.

STAY HEALTHY PEOPLE!
