"The day that the Lord has made, I will be glad and rejoice in it!"
This is also, National MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. Day!
M.L.K. Jr.~Humanitarian, Civil Rights Activist, and
Preacher of the Word of God, Husband and Dad.
~He started a REVOLUTION, that changed America and All The World, FOREVER!
Born 1929-Died 1968
This is the month that the Nation and many nations around the world celebrate this Great man of God. He was a Civil Rights leader that changed the way people lived and thought, and still live and think today! His passion and, beliefs and words rocked and softened the hardest of hearts, where hatred was concerned! He was a man who strongly believed in the "Word of God", the "might of God", the "Wisdom of God". There was no shame, only truth!
He took great security and comfort in the "Grace" of God. He was comforted and assured of his purpose, to show man his sin, to unite a people, ALL PEOPLE! He taught, stood up for, brought out and lived the need for "equality" among men! No matter what creed, race , religion. He was a bridge! He united mankind at a time when mankind religiously, and systematically, tried to wipe its own right off the face of the earth, even right here in these United States of America! In Martin Luther King, Jr.s time and place, again because of "IGNORANCE AND FEAR"Mankind tried to erase entire groups of people! They tried to erase entire belief systems! And this was not Germany, This was AMERICA! And No one was really safe! If you were "Colored", Jewish, or a Compassionate person to the needs of such groups, you were in danger also! Mankind went after anybody it deemed inferior to its ''elect'. Husbands, wives, children were torn in families, business circles and church congregations were divided because of this hate! Mr. King, lived at a time when he saw this first hand. But, what he also saw, in his God given dreams, is what helped rock the NATION to it's core! It's what showed the Nation the truth about it's ugliness and how it was really hurting us ALL, rather than benefiting us, this GREAT Nation! "
Martin Luther King Jr., by the power of God, rocked!
OH YEAH!, OH YEAH!", I'm celebrating, Reader! Doing a little dance in my seat right now! Hallelujah!
Martin Luther was not a man afraid to live or die for what he believed was his calling. He believed in standing up for what is right, no matter what other people thought. He was a MAN! He had a spine! He had hope! He had knowledge and wisdom! He knew better who to side with. He knew God! He surrounded himself with like kind. He was purposeful in his speech, purposeful in his actions! He was thought provoking, engaging, fearless, it seemed. He was a man who understood the way the world was, and the way it should have been, the way IT IS supposed to be.
He taught us openly, about "equality". He taught us how to love our neighbor and even had common sense reasons, why we should dis-regard race or the color of ones skin, or where they originated. We are all God's creation and no man is Superior to any other! Martin Luther King Jr.s dreams came true! They came true for his children, you and I. His dream came true for all of us here in this mighty Nation, and for all of you, all over the world! Yes! Yes! The road still has yet to be paved in many areas of our lives, where "True equality" reigns obvious and Supreme. But you still have to admit, that what this man and his diverse group of followers did, got the ball rolling to say the least. Many of his followers paid with their very lives, and even Martin Luther, with his! Still, their actions, caused the end of segregation in some of the most hateful places in America! These actions helped get established, opportunities for us as a people, especially the colored, where there weren't any. We, today, can go to any school we desired. We can become anything we dream, without the limitation, except for those limitation that we place on ourselves!
So, on THIS DAY, "that the Lord has made", I am glad and shall rejoice in it!" In part, because of the life, legacy and triumph of a great man, among many great men, be they Colored, White, Hispanic, Greek, Latin, Native American... In my own way, I personally salute... Mr. Martin Luther King JR!
