FOR WOMEN ONLY!- has your man EVER...?

Hey Ladies!

It's time to talk again!
Recently, I watched the movie, "One Night With the King", again!
It is a biblical story of Hadasa, (later named Esther of Sousa, to hide her true identity) a Jewish Girl who had the favor of God. She went on to become "Queen Esther" of Persia! God used his wisdom, mercy and grace, to not only elevate Hadasa, but guided her, in her position to be the Queen, and Saviour to the Jews, having their lives spared. Her story reminded me of something.
Question? Ladies, HAS YOUR MAN
EVER CELEBRATED YOU?
Mind you, I am not talking about on a special occasion like your birthday, anniversary, mothers day or for make up after an argument. But just on any given day, at any given time!
HAS HE CELEBRATED YOOOUUU?

Hang in there women, we'll get to the point! Esther's' story was quite unusual, but that's how God works...often times in the "unusual". Though God, the Great "I Am", is a favorite subject of mine, he is not what I will be talking about to you now! But I do want to talk a little bit more about the movie because there is a particular scene in that movie that lifts my heart. AND it also makes me cry (in joy) every time I see it!

It is the scene when the King Xerxes, realizes he is in love with this woman in her innocence BEFORE she became his Queen and BEFORE he bedded her! He is enamored by not only her outward beauty, but by her inward beauty as well. Esther displayed grace, kindness, humility, strength, faith, wisdom and knowledge. She could read and speak different languages. Most women in her day, could not even read the basics! Because of the times, they were not allowed or thought of important enough to teach. But Esther, was being prepared for greatness! She didn't know it yet though. She also was not afraid to show her "true self." Not a facade of who he thought she was. She followed protocol yes! But her light did shine even still!

Question? How many of you are taking advantage of opportunities presented to you, to be the "BEST YOU", you can be!
Physically, she was healthy, well groomed. She partook in beauty regimes every day for 1 year! Every day she was perfumed, someone massaged oils into her body until her pores were seeping the oils and scents. (*Now maybe we all can't afford this kind of treatment, but we can do our best for ourselves!) Her hair was washed and combed. She wore beautiful clothes. She was taught etiquette about how to meet and greet The King, what pleases him, The King! (who later turned out to be HER KING, HER HUSBAND).

She knew table etiquette. She was taught the mandatory civilities upon meeting the King. She was intelligent, and well spoken, but not haughty! She was a delight to be around, for her keepers and even the other women! Even to the other women in the court awaiting their "one with the king", Esther was a delight to be around. Back to the King! King Xerxes could not believe his eyes, nor his ears when she was around! He also could not believe how she delighted his heart. The king, almost cried a couple of times (in the movie), because he was so happy to be in Esther's presence!

Here is this tough guy solider, a great warrior, KING, head of an empire and this gentle, but strong willed young woman just completely wins him over, bringing him to tears of joy! Not with sex, did she win him over, but with being true to who she was and letting the best of her come out. she was genuine, not fake! She was the best "Esther" she knew how to be, in the king's presence as well as when she was not! It should also be mentioned, that she was the best believer in God, the father, that she could be as well! But like I said, this post is not to discuss God. What is is about...is to discuss if you know that you are worth celebrating! YOU! A Woman.
Then, to be truly loved for just being "WHO YOU ARE!"

You should know that the King , didn't try to change Esther. He got angry at her, but never tried to change her! He knew that would have killed the very thing, he fell in love with her for in the first place! She challenged him! It was AWESOME TO SEE! She didn't back down or be crude and vulgar. She was humble, but she understood WHO SHE WAS! My gosh!

Women, has your man or a man, ever delighted in your presence?
ESPECIALLY, when you are just being you and not putting on airs to please? Come on Sister Girls, you know what I'm saying! Some of us women are SOOOO FAKE!!! So fake, that some of US don't want to be around our own kind, us women! Nothing about them is real except for the skin they're in!
Our attitudes, our laugh, our thoughts on particular subjects should reflect our true, rare selves! The way we carry ourselves when we are in his presence and the way we carry ourselves when we are not, should be the same. Shouldn't it? But whoever you are, you should be your best you! If the man you value, can't see this in you and greatly appreciate it, then...hmm! (Ladies, you have to fill in your own blanks, nobody can to do that for you.)

Has he ever been brought to tears because of a beautiful moment in his life with you?
Maybe he didn't cry, but he shared apart of himself with you, like never before?
Has he ever willingly (and even suggested) taken you around his closest friends, family and colleagues showing you off like a rare jewel?
Not out of arrogance or as a trophy, but out of pure joy!

Have you known him to enjoy stolen glances of you across a crowded room?

Has he ever made a fool of himself in public over you?
Have you ever seen him soften because he could not believe his eyes, his ears, nor the satisfaction that his heart got from being with you?

Have you ever seen or felt that from him?
Do you know?

I'm not saying your man HAS TO DO THESE THINGS, but when A MAN loves a woman "FOR REAL", there is a certain hidden place inside himself, that he reveals only to you! A Man's "genuine" love, you can feel it. You'll know! At least, that's what I think!

What about this, women? Have you ever shown the "real" wonderful and vulnerable sides of yourself to the man you love or have loved? Did you take him places inside of yourself...
(your past, your present, your dreams, your hopes and desires for your future, your likes and dislikes) that you've never taken anyone else? Did you show him your gentle side, Your strong side?... The side of you, you keep hidden from every body else? Does he know who you "truly are"?

Did you ever give him reason to celebrate you?

I ask you again!
Has your man or any man that you've loved or admired...
EVER CELEBRATED YOU?
Know that YOU ARE WORTH IT!

COMMUNITY CORNER-MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY

Today is...
"The day that the Lord has made, I will be glad and rejoice in it!"
This is also, National MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. Day!

M.L.K. Jr.~Humanitarian, Civil Rights Activist, and
Preacher of the Word of God, Husband and Dad.
~He started a REVOLUTION, that changed America and All The World, FOREVER!
Born 1929-Died 1968

This is the month that the Nation and many nations around the world celebrate this Great man of God. He was a Civil Rights leader that changed the way people lived and thought, and still live and think today! His passion and, beliefs and words rocked and softened the hardest of hearts, where hatred was concerned! He was a man who strongly believed in the "Word of God", the "might of God", the "Wisdom of God". There was no shame, only truth!

He took great security and comfort in the "Grace" of God. He was comforted and assured of his purpose, to show man his sin, to unite a people, ALL PEOPLE! He taught, stood up for, brought out and lived the need for "equality" among men! No matter what creed, race , religion. He was a bridge! He united mankind at a time when mankind religiously, and systematically, tried to wipe its own right off the face of the earth, even right here in these United States of America! In Martin Luther King, Jr.s time and place, again because of "IGNORANCE AND FEAR"Mankind tried to erase entire groups of people! They tried to erase entire belief systems! And this was not Germany, This was AMERICA! And No one was really safe! If you were "Colored", Jewish, or a Compassionate person to the needs of such groups, you were in danger also! Mankind went after anybody it deemed inferior to its ''elect'. Husbands, wives, children were torn in families, business circles and church congregations were divided because of this hate! Mr. King, lived at a time when he saw this first hand. But, what he also saw, in his God given dreams, is what helped rock the NATION to it's core! It's what showed the Nation the truth about it's ugliness and how it was really hurting us ALL, rather than benefiting us, this GREAT Nation! "
Martin Luther King Jr., by the power of God, rocked!
OH YEAH!, OH YEAH!", I'm celebrating, Reader! Doing a little dance in my seat right now! Hallelujah!

Martin Luther was not a man afraid to live or die for what he believed was his calling. He believed in standing up for what is right, no matter what other people thought. He was a MAN! He had a spine! He had hope! He had knowledge and wisdom! He knew better who to side with. He knew God! He surrounded himself with like kind. He was purposeful in his speech, purposeful in his actions! He was thought provoking, engaging, fearless, it seemed. He was a man who understood the way the world was, and the way it should have been, the way IT IS supposed to be.

He taught us openly, about "equality". He taught us how to love our neighbor and even had common sense reasons, why we should dis-regard race or the color of ones skin, or where they originated. We are all God's creation and no man is Superior to any other! Martin Luther King Jr.s dreams came true! They came true for his children, you and I. His dream came true for all of us here in this mighty Nation, and for all of you, all over the world! Yes! Yes! The road still has yet to be paved in many areas of our lives, where "True equality" reigns obvious and Supreme. But you still have to admit, that what this man and his diverse group of followers did, got the ball rolling to say the least. Many of his followers paid with their very lives, and even Martin Luther, with his! Still, their actions, caused the end of segregation in some of the most hateful places in America! These actions helped get established, opportunities for us as a people, especially the colored, where there weren't any. We, today, can go to any school we desired. We can become anything we dream, without the limitation, except for those limitation that we place on ourselves!

So, on THIS DAY, "that the Lord has made", I am glad and shall rejoice in it!" In part, because of the life, legacy and triumph of a great man, among many great men, be they Colored, White, Hispanic, Greek, Latin, Native American... In my own way, I personally salute... Mr. Martin Luther King JR!

As I live in Detroit, a major player in the Civil Rights movement, I am attending a Rally and March in Downtown Detroit today @ 12:00 Noon in honor and support of Mr. Kings Legacy. Won't you join me?
