MEETTA TALKS- Hello Readers!

Hey There REaders!

Been awhile, I know. Lots been going on with me and I will have much to share with you. Just twan to say a quick hello and say I haven't forgotten you. THANK YOU for not forgetting me and my blog. As life has given me much to share, I've been trying to keep up with all of the happenings in my life. Moving UPWARD and FORWARD! Full steam ahead!

Been keepinng a busy schedule. Trying now to put things in order. New things have happened! Old things are passed aways. God is a rejuvenator! He is a God of his word. He is THE ONE TRUE LIVING GOD! A God of hope!

Before I go, I want to be of encouraging help as it always gives me pleasure and purpose to to do so, espceically in teh midst of my own journey. If I may be so bold as to say...
Get in the word of God and apply it to your life. Stay faithful to it and do not waiver, for if you head my words and take Gods words to heart, you will see your life take on unnatural heights! You will soar beyond others and even your own doubts and expectaions for you!

Please take it from me! Love the Lord Jesus with all your might and watch your life grow! You will not fail in him. Watch him transform, renew and restore! For he...knows the plans he has for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11. Read for yourself and believe.

MEETTA'S READERS - YOUR CONCERN FOR ME

HELLO READERS!

Some of you are very caring and open with your concern for me. I appreciate you.

You have expressed your concern, in light of what I have been moved to share on this site in a variety of Biblical Scriptures, personal stories and poems over the years. Some of you have shown great compassion by saying

"Be careful Meetta, Be careful in what you write and share."

You have said this "because people can be cruel. And somebody, somewhere, in their misery is always lurking about to take something of someone else's and use it against them, even that which is meant for good purposes."

I SAY IN RESPONSE:

THANK YOU Dear readers and friends. Those of you who have taken the time to share your compassion with me. But please do not think me unwise for being bold and courageous enough to use some of my own life to empower others. I have "wise counsel". I have used and will continue to use great wisdom and discernment with what I share. I am not a babe just born and stumbling through this life. If there is something I don't have a peace about sharing, I won't. If there is something I have written and need to retract, I will retract it.

As far as the personal stories I share, I have spent my whole childhood and young adult years living in shame because of what someone else did and said. It had control of me. But I've come to learn over the course of my life, "Whom the Lord sets free is free indeed". Concerned Reader, I WILL NOT LET THE MISERY OF OTHERS PUT ME IN THOSE CHAINS AGAIN!

By the same token, If someone takes ANYTHING I say here, and try and use it against me, then the battle becomes between them and the Lord Jesus Christ! I am a Christ Child. I am a believer and follower of Christ Jesus, even in and because of, all my flaws. But I am striving. The bottom line is, I have accepted Jesus as the Lord of my life. I have put my life into his hands. So for that, He will "raise up a standard against the enemy" on my behalf. Lord! May God help them, because what I share, is for the purpose of building others up and that they may have Godly peace and healing in their lives. It is my hope that they use what they read here, in my life stories and come to know Jesus and God for themselves! So, if someone comes against me for righteousness sake, then the Lord will protect me. Just as he has protected me all these years from letting the ways of this world destroy me.

It was determined for my life, by the Grace of God, that not only should I survive the madness that was bestowed against me, but that I should become a victor over it! Not only for my benefit, but to the benefit of others and ultimately to the glory of God. I thank God for his new mercies and protection by acknowledging him openly, through sharing my stories and strength. So, I say Again...

I will not let the misery of others determine the direction of my life.

But I hear you all!

"People will gossip, even whisper behind your back discussing you!". As it has been both told to me and something I've experienced for myself. They will even go so far as to sneak around you to find out more about you to talk about! I've dealt with that before too!

For example, someone at work who was nosey like that was lurking around me and a buddy during a lunchtime conversation. This person just kept easing around us trying to hear what they could hear. Knowing full well they didn't care about either one of us otherwise! People do that kind of stuff all the time!

Some people even get to the point that they end up putting alot of energy into you andyour stuff! Even reveling in your pain and misfortune. Sometimes I get frustrated about why some people don't get that they can experience the same healing power and freedom that Jesus promises and continues to perform in others lives! Gods power can out weigh any problem or stronghold that you have.

But Misery...loves company and it doesn't care who it uses to get that company! And it's never satisfied. So it keeps seeking. It's fights back hard, fooling people into thinking they are OK! That they don't have to change because the problem is not with them! That the problem is

with everybody else! Which is all a lie, because not one person on this earth is completely free of flaws and things that cannot be made better in them! Nevertheless,

In spite of and despite misery's attacks, I will press on in the work encouraging on my blog site. And f

or the sake of easing your mind with the purpose of sharing like I do here, with you all, please read the following.

Acts 4 :3-4

"They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day. But many who heard the message believed and the number of men grew to about five thousand."

Greetings.

I just wanted to take a moment to say Hello and Welcome some new followers of my blog, though I only have a few followers listed. But according to my stats, I see that many more of you are reading! Whether you are a follower or not, I am just glad that you have stopped by to check out what I've been sharing lately. I want to know your thoughts.

As always, I try and write things that are thought provoking. I write on subject matter that aims to challenge you as well as inspire you. And whether you are a follower, a closet reader, an avid reader or a random passerby on your way to another site, I just want to extend my thanks for whatever time you are here. And whatever your reasons are for reading my blog posts, I have confidence that you leave away with something that challenges you to open your mind and think on things in ways you never have before! You might not want not admit it openly as a "follower", but I believe in the power of what I write about. I am also one who truly understands the Power of words. So, a toast! MEETTA TALKS ~ MY BLOG MUSIC

Some of you may wonder about the music on my blog.

We all have our preferences.

PLEASE DON'T BE OFFENDED BY MY CHOICE OF MUSIC.

I PICK IT CAREFULLY!

I find songs that exemplify my thoughts, my desires, my faith, passions, my hopes, strengths, celebrations of life and my pains.

For example;

Songs like... "Super Girl" ...

speaks of my hopes, dreams, aspirations and personal high level of responsibility.

It also speaks of my concern of my station in life as a single woman.

"Stronger" speaks of the many difficult challenges and obstacles I've had to endure and effectively conquer, in my life. Conquering, or just surviving troubles with my son by my side accompanied and Blessed by the Grace, Mercy and Love of the Spirit of God. Surviving even when some people said we wouldn't make it!

Speaks to my struggles as a woman raising a child with very little help.

Those struggles were a HUGE part of my coming to Christ, searching for answers and strength.

MEETTA TALKS - What's in me?- Part 1 of 2

'Meetta Talks' ... is where I invite you to come on my life's journey.

I share experiences I've had and wisdom that I've learned, hoping you will take something positive from it and grow. Here, I share the thought provoking knowledge that...

"Life is about the journey just as much as it is about the destination."

Dear Reader, You know what?

There is SOOO MUCH in me! I want to share and give it...All!

I want to give it all because I know the power behind it!

I want to give it all because what I have is usable!

What I have, what's in me, if you could feel the life, the energy, the hope, the desire...

Question? Have you ever in your life, been around a person who was truly passionate about something that they were involved in? And you got the chance to be around them when they were actively doing that thing?

Do you remember how you felt being around them in those moments?

Do you remember the mood of the atmosphere?

Was it filled with power? Was it kinetic?

Did their moment seem to extend and lend itself to you?

I remember! I remember how that feels to be on the giving and receiving end of it.

When I am around people like that and when I AM LIKE THAT! I feel like I can do anything!

I am empowered! All of sudden I feel like I can fly!.. I can accomplish much! I feel like I am strong! That's what I am saying to you Dear reader, about what's in me! That's a major reason why I write like I do! I don't always write about popular things or say them the way the masses might. But what I write, I write it with might! The topics I discuss are needed! My writings have a certain purity to it.

I don't have time for games concerning that which is important to me!

So why lie? If a writer is going to write, the writings should be truth, their truth! Why not write with the passion that lies within? Anyway, the emotion, the words and the arrangements of them, along with my "figure of speech" is mine! No one else can claim true ownership over what's uniquely mine or what's uniquely yours, for that matter! But I am grateful that I can share them with you so freely, in hopes that you too may be inspired and may also believe that you too can fly! That you can fly above ignorance, obscurity, wastefulness of life, hurtful criticism, and the "I can't syndrome."

I wish I could get it all out! Tapping into that power myself AND ACTUALLY accomplish all that I so very much desire, for me! Living my life in fury, but without the destructiveness of it! But wisdom says to me, if I give you Dear Readers, my everything, then I will be left an empty vessel. So in wisdom, keeping that in mind, I won't give you my all, my everything in my writings (though my heart desires to), But I will continue to give and give in truth with conviction! You gotta know, by now that I am a great woman of passion. I want to know, learn, grow, go and give! I WANT TO LIVE ...and live out loud!

Telling all, giving all, not keeping some of me, for myself (or you for yourself), CAN BE destructive! Totally pouring out oneself, makes one quite vulnerable to being openly abused, misused and mistaken or taken lightly. So, some secrets need to be kept. But, my writings will still have intensity, in encouragement, in the teachings and information of them. You may be saying to yourself, "Why is she sharing this, here?" Because I want you to know that these writings I write, are not for not! They have purpose and meaning. What I give in my writings is thought out. I write with great passion and ...fury. In writing this particular article about what's in me, helps me keep things in perspective. I can't give you my all dear reader, but if you knew what was inside...

I LOVE TO SHARE MY LIFE'S JOURNEY!

...The things I've seen, heard, learned, am learning and hope to learn! I want to go to far way places! I think of the people I've met and dream of meeting! I think of the stories of the lives of others and how they intrigue me, teach me! I live in wonder! How amazing is life?

The life we often take for granted! The people we can love, but don't! The opportunities we have, but are too scared to seize them! I think about how much more I can do to help myself and maybe you, to live a life out loud! It doesn't have to be anything dirty, immoral or crude mind you. There is so much more through positivity, that one can do to lead a loud life! A life outside of obscurity fenced in by limitations!

What I mean by a "loud life" is living openly, doing things, going places, having adventures! Getting out of the doldrums of a planned, limited life! I want to go to IRELAND! I want to go to Vancouver. I want to go and take pictures, even with a borrowed digital camera because I don't own one nor do I own a professional camera. Heck! I'd even take photos with a disposable camera. It doesn't bother me!

When I was a kid, someone asked me at the age of seven, what it was that I wanted to grow up and be or do? I remember down to the word what my response was. I said, (without missing a beat as I danced to the Jackson Five singing ABC...). " I want to go around the world to different places, meeting and talking to people. Taking pictures of everything I see, bring them back and show people how beautiful the world really is." Of course mind you, I didn't know a name or career for such a position. At the age of seven, It just seemed quite important to me, to get out of my limited space, go elsewhere, all over Gods earth and go talk to people! Talking with them sharing in their experiences, having them share in mine! Using my life to uplift to encourage.

I want to travel and take in the sights of this great planet, reveling in it's beauty! Somehow, even as a kid, I thought this kind of connection amongst people was missing and much needed! Somehow, I thought I could be one of the person's to make a difference in this area! I even thought somehow I would be famous for it, because it seemed so precious to me! And when you are famous, more doors are open to and for you. And famous people get to see more and do more than regular people! Even kids know that! I could just see myself doing that which I spoke of, forever! People and their stories, have ALWAYS been important to me!

Needless to say ( obviously), that I never got to fulfill that dream! How good at it, I would be though!

ON HER SOAP BOX

ON HER SOAP BOX...is what I am passionate about!

I actually got the idea for this column back in the fall, when a few of my co-workers and I were talking and I became very expressive about the subject of discussion and one of my co-workers said, there she goes, "On her soap box." I thought, "hmm, I'll take that and make a positive out of it." As you all know by now, I am a very passionate and compassionate person. So stuff does affect me and I sometimes I DO feel the need to express my thoughts about them!

I have been known to voice my passion. "A man who doesn't stand up for something, will fall for anything." So, I decided to go global with my passion! I write about what gets my goat!

You know, the stuff that gets your "gumption up!"

This week I am passionate about more productivity and less self pity!

"GET UP OFF YOUR DO NOTHING... AND DO

SOMETHING!

Many people are going through great change right now! In light of the economy collapse, the local city governments problems, the worlds' problems with people wanting to blow up planes etc.. People are really going through some terrible things! Some are are frustrated, empty and idle which makes them vulnerable. One of the reasons may be that they have not found a positive "true purpose" for their lives!

Other problems include the fact that all over the country, people are out of work. It's proven even tougher to find jobs that will support the needs, let alone, the wants of many! Many people are in their middle aged years or elderly years, college Grads, corporate heads, skilled tradesmen and women and they are finding that they have to go back to college, change their area of expertise and or go to get special training to be "employable" now, in this tougher job market.

Social issues have gotten way out of hand. More stress and strain has been put on families. Many people have gotten divorces and left their families, for all that is going on around and in them! There are many more who have all but given up! They sit around, watching television ALL DAY long, talking about what they don't have! Sure! Many of them can say, that they have goals, dreams, desires and know what they want, but haven't gotten up to go get it! They have gotten comfortable where they are, even though where they are, is aggravating and slowly killing them inside! The latter was happening to me. But, I'm making changes, how about you?

Let's start by getting of of our "do nothings and go do something" about our situations? Yeah, I have heard people close to me say..."Yeah! OK.

But the situation out there is so that you can't get ahead right now!"

"I'm already a college Grad , WITH A DEGREE!".

Yep, I know there are jobs out there, but you have to go back to school to get them!" "I like what I do already, I don't want to have to change."

My response is, (even to myself)...OK! So you may have to change, you may even have to move to another location! Are you getting where you NEED to be, the way things are going? So, go back to school and get the degree! Go get the training! Sign up for the "No Worker Left Behind" program if yo have to. That's the one, in which the Government will pay up to $5000.00 per year, for 2 years, to encourage you to go back to school to get 're-employment ready'! There's no shame in that! Let the Government help you go back to school if you need to do that!

Granted it will take some time to even get in that program because there are so many millions of Michiganders taking advantage of it, but do the work and put your papers in anyway! Eventually, they'll get to you! I did it! Hey! Their offering it! Most of us, have been diligent tax payers all of our adult lives. If we need a little help and if the government is willing to give us a little in return, then I say WHOO HOO! What do I have to do?

Yes! The government is trying to help itself, but if it helps you, then what are you waiting for? To heck with what other people say!

Their life is not yours! They are not coming into your home to pay your bills or even help pay, feed your kids, pay life insurance, help send your kids to college or go on a vacation! They are not interested in a better life for you! Some of them don't even think you can do more than what you are doing right now! They don't believe in you! Let ME tell you something...

YOU CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO! And anybody, even your closest friend, (because you don't always know what's their motivation)... that tells you WHAT You CAN'T ACCOMPLISH, you need to stay away from them! At least until you have achieved what you are trying to achieve.

My Momma used to say, "Actions talk, bull----walks!"

(God Bless and keep her.) Anyway, So, GET BUSY!

And if people are doubting you and trying to hold you in a little box that THEY you in... They may not DESERVE YOU IN THEIR LIVES ANYWAY! If you are trying to better your life and folks are snickering, talking negatively about you, doubting your abilities, your possible achievements, dashing your hopes, don't waste energy and focus fighting with those people. Why are you trying to convince them anyway? Just and GO ON and do what you came to do!

Need something to fill your time so you can get off the couch and stop watching so much television, watching your life pass you by?

GO VOLUNTEER somewhere, while you are in between jobs. Even while you are working! Being productive helps keep you growing and feeling useful. It can boost confidence and in many cases, volunteering can increase your skill level and even teach you new skills! Not to mention the fact that, when you are giving to someone else, it helps to take your mind off of yourself! It helps you to re-focus your energy by reshaping your attitude! Also, I happen to know that some businesses often hire volunteers for permanent employment. That's how I ended up with one of the best paying jobs I ever had! Unfortunately, it was only temporary.

I was working at a Local Television station.

Some employers actually "watch" for such volunteers. Unpaid workers who are their because they want to be there and not necessarily because they have to, especially volunteers who are working hard, are the type of people that many business owners are open to hiring! Quite often, they'll look consider a volunteer first, for employment before they will consider an "outsider". Now, this is not to say that all volunteer opportunities lead into permanent employment, but volunteering is at least something to keep you productive while you are working on the things for yourself.

What about taking those classes you always wanted to take? What about the singing classes, the voice Acting? The pottery classes? What about the acting? The film making schools you looked into? What about your passion for cooking? Baking? They have some very good culinary and pastry programs in the Michigan area.

What about THOSE THINGS?

Many times, our hobbies and our passions can take us "up" to places we've never been, even in our own minds! Come on, you can do it. THINK!

What are your hobbies, skills, Passions?

Whatever you do Dear Reader, just "KEEP MOVING FORWARD."

"Don't stop... 'til you get enough". You know that song!

(Hey, Gotta laugh, you know.) Seriously, Dear Reader...

Don't stop going after the betterment of your life.

You only have one to live. And Remember Never, EVER forget to laugh!

So, "GET OFF YOUR DO NOTHING and GO DO SOMETHING!"

But do something with morals, along with the benefits.
