Sometimes I get deep in thought and I just...without fear, I just say what I'm thinking! I just put it out there! And if you've been reading my blog, then you already know that about me. Here's a thought I just had (sparked by a jet, flying low over my city apartment dwelling)...If this was your last day on earth, how would you be spending it! What would you be doing?
I immediately what knew how I would!
You might be saying,
"Well Meetta, what does a jet, flying low over head have to do with this depressing thought of yours?"
My answer is , Jets don't often fly low across the city for nothing!
Mind you, last year in the city, THERE WAS a scare! Me and my son had just left home and had walked 2 blocks when the JETS flew past, fast and high overhead. We didn't know whether to keep going or go back home! Those jets just seemed to have come from out of nowhere!
People were calling the news stations highly alarmed, as again, several Jets rumbled across the city. It is true that the city's alarms were not sounding off. Still , the direction was the major water way I just spoke of! Even the news, reported some concern, but never really explained what was really going on! But later a little information started to seep out. So it seemed momentarily anyway, there was that brief cause for concern. Though we never REALLY knew what to be concerned about exactly! Another governmental attack that was thwarted, perhaps! The Government don't tell us everything! After a few weeks, the buzz around town started to die down.
Anyway, consider the threats to the united States. Many have been carried out in the past. Some have been stopped. But, many more seem to always be in the plans of our country's enemies, according tho the news. The other part of my answer, I also live near a major waterway, where ships go up and down constantly, delivering God knows what, to God knows where! That is a MAJOR money and power factor! Waterways are known targets.
So, as I'm sitting here in my city dwelling, with jets flying low over the city, that's what sparked my thought! So, I pose the question again, have YOU figured out
what you'd be doing if this was your last day in the life as you know it?
Again, I knew immediately knew what I'd be doing or would rather be doing. Hint: It wouldn't involve running, screaming and panicking! It wouldn't involve doing illegal or immoral or time wasting things!
I should hope that the last day of my life,
will find me, doing what my spirit, and heart longs to do anyway....Make sure that God, Jesus The Holy Spirit and me, were all on the same wavelength at to my place in them! So, I'd be spending my time being active in their orders for me. Praying, being grateful, helping others as best I could. I would live my life loudly and for "the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." I would do this in honor of Jesus of Nazareth, my Savior who shed his blood for me. With my final acts (as should be with my present acts. Still working on it!) I would show him my undying gratitude, without care for myself, but trusting God to pick up the slack......until my last!
For a man who tries to save his life, will surely lose. And a man who loses his life for the obedience to Christ, will surely gain his life."
IT'S TIMES IN THOUGHT LIKE THESE, WHEN WE NEED TO SHIFT
OUR PRIORITIES.
